Star – Dr. McCallum’s Canine Sidekick

Who doesn’t love a big, goofy dog? Star is just that: a one-year-old Golden Retriever owned by Dr. McCallum. You may see this gentle boy behind the scenes in the Administrative office at the clinic. His favorite things are rowing his boat (x-pen) around the office, playing his water bowl drum, and pets. Lots and lots of pets.

Dr. Marissa Komp
Dr. Marissa Komp
MPH, DVM

Dr. Komp grew up just outside Wichita, Kansas, and is a proud triple Wildcat—earning her undergraduate degree, Master of Public Health (with an emphasis on zoonotic diseases), and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University. She spent the first two years of her career working with companion animals in Lenexa, KS, and has a special interest in managing chronic medical conditions and osteoarthritis in pets. She enjoys building strong relationships with clients and is passionate about helping pet owners feel informed and confident in their pets’ care. She also has a particular love for ultrasound and how it can help guide treatment decisions.

At home, she shares life with her fun-loving corgi, Waffles, and her ornery cat, Pancake. When she’s not at the clinic, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, trying out new restaurants, is active in her church, and exploring new places with her fiancé—whether that’s a weekend road trip or finding a new trail to walk with the dogs. She’s always up for a good cup of iced coffee and a visit to a great local bakery.

Venus
Venus

Polydactyl Clinic Resident Cat

Look at all those toes! Venus is an estimated 9-year-old polydactyl tortoiseshell cat who lives at the clinic. The veterinarian took her in when she was found in an unfortunate hoarding situation. She loves to talk to clients, eat treats, and, just like Star, get all of the pets she can from everyone!

Molly
Molly
Practice Manager

Molly has been in the veterinary industry since 2010. She started as a kennel attendant and worked her way up in the field to becoming a Lead Veterinary Technician and Lead Surgery Technician at multiple hospitals. She now embarks on a new adventure of being Practice Manager.

Molly is proud to be among the few who remain in the field after this long of a time. Molly graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in US History, Secondary Degree in International Studies, and a Minor in French. Her three degrees come in handy for trivia games or when she needs to talk to her mom in secret!

Molly seems to always find the stray puppies and kittens in need of a home (or they find her). She has two scrunkly, scruffy dogs and three cats who have all just appeared ready for Molly to be their new mom. Molly likes being outside in the sun by a pool or beach and hates everything about cold weather. She enjoys swimming, hiking, watching any type of trivia show, and spending time with her family.

We love having Abi around not only because of her natural talent in the field, but also because she never stops smiling and making everyone laugh.
